Diabetes-Ignorance is Not Bliss

In a recent poll by Harris Interactive for Medtronic, Inc., showed that 67 percent of poor people Cree Is there a cure for Type 1 diabetes

The investigation also showed that about 80 percent of American adults do not know the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes develops when the immune system destroys the beta cells of the pancreas, the only cells that produce insulin, a hormone which regulates blood sugar levels. About 1 million Americans with Type 1 diabetes are dependent on insulin to survive.

Only half (fifty percent) of respondents knew there were two types of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is diabetes insulin. Apparently for most older people, but is due to the increase among young adults due to the explosion of the proportion of obesity in the United States. Type 2 diabetes is responsible for 90-95% of all cases of diabetes in the United States

This is particularly worrying in view of the fact that 90% of Type 2 diabetes can be prevented, but can only be made when people have knowledge of the approach.

In an age of information sounds to me that so many unsuspecting people are affected by this disease, as the ruins the lives not only in the United States, but throughout the world.

Especially in the case of diabetes, knowledge is a prerequisite to control the disease and to prevent and to reverse the disease. The company’s pharmaceutical and medical community and must be a better work of our public education misinformed.
